We adjust... don't we?

Its funny how easily we adjust to changes in our lives. How a small thunder shower can fill us with glee, when before we cursed just such a day. How the temperature of 80 now seems like a fall day, when before we would have thought that was so hot...Funny how we look forward to mowing grass, or working in the garden, when before we thought it such a chore...A months worth of excessive heat, and no rain, can change our perspective...Just turning off the AC for one day, and opening windows, can fill us with joy, when we know tomorrow the heat will start again. The AC will be turned on again, and the windows closed up tight. Maybe God knows that now and then we need a wake up call. We need to see that life can be rough at times, but when the good things happen we appreciate them much more. We tend to take life with our eyes shut...Walk through our days without seeing the beauty, or realizing how lucky we are to have all we have. Okay God, I get it.

Gonna be another very hot day today. We might even break a record...For those that like this summer heat, well Bless your hearts. For me its starting to wear real thin. The usual outside work that I do, is now left up to hubby.[ he likes the heat] I stay in for the most part, and do stuff that used to wait till fall, or winter. Closets, drawers, ect. Now we have to start worrying about our well going dry..We cant golf, dont want to shop...Oh well, it cant last forever, can it?

humanity at the Clinic

While sitting in the lobby waiting for hubby, I see slow walkers, wheel chairs, bandages and splints. Old people, young people, overweight and skinny. Thrown in are a few perfect weight people...So many here to find relief from what ails them. Appointments kept, and some missed. Doctors and nurses moving the folks thru as if on a conveyor belt...Next? Some people that treat their bodies as if they will live forever, no matter how they abuse it..Come here to see if whatever ails them can be fixed...Some people that take good care of themselves, surprised when all they do fails... People waiting, waiting, using their cell phones or laptops as a lifeline to the outside world...Hoping that soon they too will be part of that world, as soon as doctors can make them well...Some with smiles to know that all the tests were negative, and they can continue on there busy lives... One would think that with all the new technology, and knowledge, that less would come here, instead there seem to be more. When we finally walk out that door, into the sun, I smiled knowing that we were going to be okay for awhile more. That morning would make us smile, and we could be so glad to be alive in this goofy world...Enjoy your moments. Kiss that child, and hug your partner. Eat you vegetables, and walk a lot...Take care of this wonderful machine we walk around in...Just...Lil ole me

Okay, Okay...whoever is in control of our weather..ENOUGH please..I cannot believe how much the weather controls how we live. I feel so confined to the house while its so very hot out...Everything we do has to be done in the early morning hours. I need to breathe..to feel a breeze blowing on my skin. No, not this hot air balloon we are living in. We also need nice steady rain to fall on our parched ground...I watched the other day, as the birds flew into the spray, coming from the waterer connected to the hose. they bathed with joy in the puddles...Wisconsin is not used to this heat and dryness. We are green and soft and comfy...We are cool breezes and rainy afternoons. We are thunderstorms, and lightning, that at times can scare the bejeesus out of us...I would even go for a bit of scared right now, if it meant I could feel alive and cool... I was surprised this am, to see a small, green, garden snake among my potato plants. I think he too was making his food trip while it was still coolish...Im thinking...how did we ever get along without AC,s...Maybe we were better able to cope back then. Now we are getting too used to being in comfort all the time. Have no more cazonies for hardship...Oh well, I did my hard time...Enough! Enough I say...Late Ta, lil ole me

Ok Irv wants to golf today... In this heat, right after the sun reaches its zenith...OMG! I went out to the yard to practice and saw a pool of water, with animals drinking peacefully at its shore...Mirage you say? Maybe...It sure is hot enough for one...between the little bees pollinating the clover on the ground, to the sweat flies buzzing around my head, and the sweat running down my neck, I just don't think golfing today is a wise thing....Chances are we will try it tho...we just don't know how long he will be in condition to do this...I must say tho that he gets better all the time at the game...Wish that were true of his illness...So off we will go later to see how far we can go on the course. There are many others doing the same foolish thing, so we can all see mirages together....Late Ta, lil ole me

Guess whose back? I've been gone awhile now, but feel the need to voice my views once again. This is as good a place as any... The heat is an issue for a lot of people. The area south of us is in the 100s. Too hot for me...90 is all I can stand even with AC. I pity those that have none...Of course, people managed without it years ago...Ice cubes in front of a fan was one remedy...Then Theres politics. The two sides that cannot see eye to eye over anything. The outright lies one about the other is ridiculous. You,d think they would all have the peoples interest at heart...but nooooo. Its all about winning and lining pockets, and our side versus yours. Phooey! Now about my garden...Doing well in spite of the heat and little rain. I did discover s few potato beetles yesterday, and picked them off. The used sage, and diazon to kill any remaining or curious ones...I don't think they had completed their try at making babies yet. I think I interrupted the acts...I will go out this am and till the soil, add manure, and then ground water, so I don't wash off the powder...Sure don't want all our hard work to go down the drain... Talked to sister this am, and giggles, and guffaws, sprouted from my face. tears also. We are one person I swear. Right down to farting in public on the same day...What would I do with out her? Ok enough for now. I have to get dressed in my farmer clothes, and get some stuff done...Have a great day all who read this....Little ole me
