I'm heading off to town this am to get a Heppa vacumn and a hypoallergenic pillow...Yah, Im allergic to dust and need serious help wth the coughing, sneezing, runny nose....This could be a semi costly venture, but worth it if it actually helps...Boy, you folks that are still in the youthful group, ENJOY it....Age has a way of making life less then wonderful at times....I,m still healthier then some though at my age, so I,ll try not to complain too much...Ive wanted one of those new fangled vacs anyhew...No more cheapys for me...The sun is out and tho it may be cold out, It looks inviting out there.... Stolen words but true anyhew...

I've seen two shows lately that went on and on about how mid-life is a great time for women. Just last week Oprah had a whole show on how great menopause will be . . . Puhleeeeeeeze! I've had a few thoughts of my own and would like to share them with you. Whether you are pushing 40, 50, 60 (or maybe even just pushing your luck), you'll probably relate. Mid-life is when the growth of hair on our legs slows down. This gives us plenty of time to care for our newly acquired mustache. In mid-life women no longer have upper arms, we have wing spans. We are no longer women in sleeveless shirts, we are flying squirrels in drag. Mid-life is when you can stand naked in front of a mirror and you can see your rear without turning around.
Mid-life is when you go for a mammogram and you realize that this is the only time someone will ask you to appear topless. Mid-life is when you want to grab every firm young lovely in a tube top and scream, 'Listen, honey, even the Roman empire fell, and those will too.'
Mid-life brings wisdom to know that life throws us curves, and we're sitting on our biggest ones. Mid-life is when you look at your know-it-all teenager and think, 'For this I have stretch marks?' In mid-life your memory starts to go. In fact the only thing we can retain is water. Mid-life means that your Body By Jake now includes Legs By Rand McNally--more red and blue lines than an accurately scaled map of Wisconsin. Mid-life means that you become more reflective. You start pondering the 'big' questions. What is life? Why am I here? How much Healthy Choice ice cream can I eat before it's no longer a healthy choice? But mid-life also brings with it an appreciation for what is important. We realize that breasts sag, hips expand, and chins double, but our loved ones make the journey worthwhile. Would any of you trade the knowledge that you have now, for the body you had way back when? Maybe our bodies simply have to expand to hold all the wisdom and love we've acquired. That's my philosophy and I'm sticking to it!

Wind and leaves do not mix

Or so I found out today! Tons of leaves raked and piled to be hauled off somewhere at the edge of our 5 acres....Ok so I start on a pile....Put the plastic rake thingy into the pile and bring it up to go in the trailor........Whoosh!!!! Along comes a blast of wind and the leaves become part of the pile again. Ok Ill wait till it dies down, NOW! AS soon as the rake is in the air WHOOSH! This is not funny!!!!!! I swear to you .... no lie here......It took me 5 hours to get the leaves into the trailor and get them hauled away. Actually theres still a small pile or two out there. Im hoping Irv will come home, and feel sorry for my plight, and haul them away...I have nothing left to give to those piles....Nothing.....To bad the wind isnt strong enough to blow them into the next county, but nooooooooooo, cant do that..... I have to admit though...It sure feels good to have them gone.....when there gone....Till next year....Am I nuts???????

I'm a bit late posting, but here I am....Its a cloudy, windy day, so I stayed in to clean the house and do laundry today. Tomorow the suns sposed to shine, so Ill do leaves then. Well......unless something else comes up to prevent me from that glorious chore... Actually. the truth be known, I DO enjoy a bit of raking. Its just the hauling away that gets to me...Blah!!!!

Marissa is coming soon on the bus. Its my one day with her now, and I sure look forward to it. Ive got a canister of cotton candy on the table waiting for her. Yah, yah, I know. Its not the best choice but its one day........remember???? I was sadly disappointed last night. Toni Braxton got kicked off Dancing with the stars and they kept Cloris leachman who by the way cannot dance, and Susan Luci who is not near as good as Toni...Oh well, I didnt vote so what can I say? Its a shame though.... Ok Roo is due so Ill get off here....Have a great evening....Late Ta....

Tues in Pttsville

Here I am again after a bout of not feeling too hot. Ive also been kinda busy.... am now a member of the neilson internet family. They monitor my surfing and pay me a stipend to boot. Good thing my surfing is all harmless..... Today I'm off to Plover with a friend. Were going to hit Kohls, Big lots ect... Im doing my xmas shopping early this year. Not going to go in debt this time around...The weather is cool but not bad for this time of year. Im dreading that first snow fall.... Funny thing, Ive been dreamng of those that have passed. Two nights of mom and dad, and last night Irvs dad. Sure hope that doesnt have any particular meaning.....You all have a great day now...... Late Ta....

Fall is here...

After a few days of 70 degree weather, it is now going to be more fall like. I guess thats ok cause I didnt like the lady beetles that came out with the warm days.... They are disgusting, horrid creatures. I see no use for them whatsoever....If you have them too, you,ll know what I mean.....nough said.
This afternoon I plan on mowing and blowing leaves into piles I can manage...I like this job. Something about it, gives me a perverse pleasure. I love seeing the rows of chopped leaves and then the raking them into piles. Robins love it when I do this, as it brings out the worms and bugs. Its like a smorgasboard for them. I don't like picking up the piles though, and would avoid that job if I could... Oh well, it gets me outside, and away from all things politics, so thats a good thing. Will it ever end?
I'm heading for town this am to the grocery store, and maybe wal-mart. I haven't been there for awhile. I could use a few new towels and Irv needs some new work socks...Nothing major...
Roo was home from school sick yesterday. Well anyhew, she didn't feel too good. I'll check on her later.....You all have a great day now, live it well...Late ta...

TGIF

Ok, whos tired of the doom and gloom of politics and wall street? Whos tired of waking up to hear how much money we've lost in our 401k's or investments? Here we are puppets again, dangling from the governments string.. I for one am tired of it all....I want to wake up to happy news. To the smell of fresh coffee and maybe even a warm doughnut..... I want to go outside and see the golden trees and leaves falling down to he ground in silent assent...I want to hear my birds sing and not have one depressing thought.....Right now I dont want to be in the real world. The world that brings a frown to my face and worry in my heart. So for today anyway, I am going to be happy. I am going to just see the good things around me and ignore the bad....I may even sing at the top of my lungs.... The maybe tomorrow Ill do it all over again... Have a peaceful day.....Late Ta...

Wed. in this Ole house

Good morning, I feel much better, after a bout of some sorta bug. This time of year is always full of strange little bugs in the air...WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN!!!!!! Did ya watch the debate last night? Irv actually stayed up for half of it. Then he got disgusted at MC Cain's sarcasm and went to bed. Everyone is saying that Obama won the debate, and I thought that was accurate. I wont go into details, as those of you that watched , should already know that, and those of you that didn't, dont really care.... The weekend looks good so far. There talking 70,s and sunny....Wa hoooooo! Golfing here I come. Maybe some of the kids will want to golf also....
Marissa's birthday is coming up soon. Nov.1st in fact....14!!!!!!Our baby is 14!!!!! Oh my Goodness, where did that time go? Shes asking for a WII Mario game so I think I'll try to get that for her. Shes a delight, and will be here tonite after school. Were down to one day a week , but I'll take it... Well, I'm gonna try to get outside today to finish up the garden. It might be a bit wet tho....First of all I'm going to start my exercising!!!!!!!! Late Ta....

Sunday

One more day to the weekend, and then back to work as usual, for some of you. For me its back to the outside work before the snow flies. Leaves to rake and haul away. Flower pots to empty and clean and garden refuse to finish. Last time mowing too... We golfed yesterday, some news, hey? Just Irv and I and it was a rough day for me. I just couldnt get it all together. Ever have one of those days, where nothing you do seems to work? That could very well have been our last time out too. Oh well, such is life...It might rain today, so maybe, just maybe Ill get to do nothing.... You all have a great day and Ill catch ya on the morrow....Late Ta...

Life is a wonderful read....

We got a hard Frost last night. 30 degrees this am. Everything in the garden should have been done for the year......Well, not everything....The row of pink and white petunias sat there in a stately manner, waiting for the film of frost to leave their bloom. To show off another day. They don't look hardy. They look delicate and fancy like a small dainty woman. But Hardy they are, and the old saying of don't let the cover tell you whats in the book rings true....They sorta remind me of my mom, tiny at the end but still strong.....I hope they last a long time yet as they bring joy to my day... Not in the mood to talk politics today so Ill let you all have your own thoughts on last nights debate....For me it was just politics as usual....
The sauerkraut is steeping in a crock, bread is rising on the cub board. Life is good...Late Ta.....

Day of the Debate!!!!!!!

I,ll be watching this momentus debate tonight at 8 my time...I want to see if Palin retained anything that they drove into her head...Hard to believe she will come across as a knowlegible VP just because they gave her some info. We,ll see....
I'm off to the clinic this morning for cholesterol check, and I'm not even awake yet. Had another rough night. One full nights sleep would be wonderful....Yah yah, I know, its probably the apnea but Im NOT doing a sleep study! If I can't sleep in my own comfy bed how the heck would I sleep in a hospital one? NO no....... I suppose Ill come home with scary meds today. They,[ the docs] always want to fill you up with poisens....I had hoped I could get the cholesterol and BP down with my diet but probably not. You know I love my peanut butter....

Maybe after my app. I'll go shop a bit. I know I will have to feel better..... You all have a glorious day and think of me telling the dr. to go jump in the lake with his pills.....Late Ta...

Wed...and all is well

Morning world....Whatever I had the last 3 days seems to be over. Nausea, tiredness, ect. Maybe I can get out into the remainder of the garden today. I have cabbages and dried beans to pick. Maybe Ill make some sourkraut... I also have a container of Hostas to plant yet too. Just have to find a good shady spot....Anyone notice that Hostas have a bug issue this year? Everywhere I look the Hostas in peoples yards have holes eaten in them. Hope mine survive that.....
My grandsons girl had her baby yesterday. A 6 lb 1 oz little girl. Havent got the name yet but should have it today. Dark hair and lots of it Irvie says....Babies....... yayyyyyyyy...
I see there are still finches at the feeders...Some stick around all year, brave little cuteys...I've been kinda lax in my feeding habits. Guess I'd better get back on that...
