Monday, don't ya know...

I pressured my self to get out of bed this morning. I was thoroughly enjoying sleeping, but I have a big work day, so had to get my feet on the floor. Just took photos of three deer in the yard. Two does, and one young buck. He was jumping around out there, having the time of his life. Well, he has two girls, so hes a happy lad...Where does he rate, I wonder? There must be a host of females available...
Today I have to weed the garden and thin some carrots and radishes. Rototill and mow the grass. Suns out and looks like a nice day.
We golfed 18 holes sat. with Jeff. It was great fun but i still need to practice my shots here at home. I have to get better on the fairway. Then we went to charlies for dinner and home for a movie. It was a good day all in all. Grand kids came yesterday. I made them barbecues and tried to talk some sense to them but they see things there own way. I'm sure I didn't get through. I worry especially about heather. I can only pray she will be okay, like I do for the rest.
Guess Ill have one more cup of coffee and then off to start my day. You all have a good one......

Friday and hot again...

Whew! The weather has been hot and humid. One would think it was summer. Two problems with this: I cant bake bread, and I cant open the windows..I love having the windows open and a breeze wafting thru. There is no breeze with an air conditioner. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Im just stating the way it is with me. Life as I see it, sorta thing. Looks like rain for today so maybe I can get some drawers cleaned out and I have a cupboard that should be looked into...While I'm looking into it, I probably should clean it out also...
This morning at 8, I will go down to get a gold, I mean gas, fill up and then go put lots of money in the bank to cover that fill up. Then I will meet Diane at the Babcock,[ you heard me right] restaurant. You thought the Name Pittsville was bad!!!!We have some doozy's around here. There's even town names that are made after relatives....Christy. named after my daughter..Irving. After my husband and son. Well they actually were already there when we moved up, but its still cute...
Dean and Christy are leaving for up north this afternoon. They'll be gone a week, fishing, camping, etc. Looks like were staying around here for the holiday.
Did I mention that I had a fabulous birthday? It was one of the best so far. I got to spend a lot of time with my family and got great cards. I even got one from Jack this year. Made me laugh and feel so loved. What a great week!!!! I hope yours was also...See ya tomorrow...

Tuesday

Tomorrow is my birthday...Yup, another one so soon. Instead of thinking about how old I am.....I'm going to think about what Ive learned, in low these many years. Ive learned, that no one is worried about how I look...There all worried about how they look. Ive learned that everyone has an issue of there own and don't want to hear about mine. Ive learned that every time you do something nice for someone, your the one that gets the most pleasure from it. Ive learned of all the things in the world....love is the one that holds us all together. Ive learned that family is the most precious commodity and should be handled with care. Ive learned that children give you life, more then the life you gave to them. Ive learned that judgement should be left to God, and I fight the urge daily. Ive learned that there's so much pleasure in turning over the earth, to see what it will provide. Even if sometimes its just worms.... Ive learned that life is short, but its only short here on earth. Have a wonderful day and be in your moment. It IS yours and yours alone...

Monday and all is well...

Its 9.45 and the sun is bright outside and in my heart. I'm going to take roo to her school at 11, and then go to meet my son Irv for lunch. Well. actually, I think he mainly wants me to see his sewing job on the seat covers of his boat. yes he got an old sewing machine from a garage sale and sewed new seat covers himself...Neat hey?
As you can tell, Roo got back from her trip to Washington DC safe and tiredly sound. Friday they will leave for a weeks camping trip up north. They will spend the 4th of July there. Ryan will stay home again. They invited us up for a few days but I don't know about that....
I had a bad night last night. Woke up at 1 and couldn't sleep, so I retired to the couch. I fell asleep sitting up and had a vicious nightmare. Yelling for Irv to help me once again...he came out and woke me, thank heavens...I went into the bed and he went off to work...I hate those dreams and don't know why I have them...Oh well, I'm fine today....
We had a good rain yesterday and last night so I don't have to water anything. Garden is doing good so far except for the fact that Sunday I looked out the bedroom window and saw a rabbit inside the garden fence!!!! I ran out and somehow the gate was left open and Two, count them two small rabbits were have a race around the walking paths. I opened both gates and IT wasn't long before they ran back out. I didn't see that they had had lunch while in there...It DID remind me a bit of peter cottontails tale... Tail? I'm farmer brown I guess...No neither rabbit left their jackets behind..

What am I doing up?

We went golfing yesterday....Just Irv and I. They had a golf tournament going on, so there were lots of bodies on the small course. The guy said it would run slow. Well, we thought, "no problem, as we are kinda slow anyhew." We would tee off, and then wait for the others ahead to continue down the course. It wasn't bad though, as we got to watch how the good golfers do it. Well, there's good and not so good...Now if your thinking that golf is an active sport, and you can lose weight playing, I have another thought for ya...There's an awful lot of rotund golfers...The women especially are not tight and lean. Some actually waddle to the next tee. Irv and I usually ride in a cart so that we CAN keep up with the better golfers and not hold them up too much. Don't get me wrong, Id like to walk. I enjoy walking. Its the other people that would like it if we rode every time. All in all, its a fun sport IF....you don't let the fact that the hit you just made has gone off somewhere into the trees and the squirrels will store the ball thinking its some kind of new nut. Or you hit it off the tee and it rolls a few feet away and you end up hitting the ball ten times just to get it 200 feet to the green. I think we will eventually GET it and improve enough to hold our heads up and look good golfers straight in the eye when we tell our score for the 9. I don't really care....I'm addicted to the game....

Another busy day.

I decided to invite my grandsons to dinner tonight. Nate wants to borrow grampa's boat and might have to work on it a bit. We haven't used it for quite a few years. Any hew.....I made lasagna and am raising two small loaves of bread. There's a pumpkin pie in the oven. I'm hoping Ryan will join us too but not betting money on it. He relishes his freedom from adult family right now...I'm thinking my reason for being here now, is to be a good gramma to my grand kids, and great grand kids. I hope I am doing that...
I cant figure this out....I fill the oriole liquid feeder and the hummingbird feeder and in a night, it all disappears. What is drinking it? The orioles are not around right now and haven't seen too many hummers lately...hmmmmmmmmmm. What a conundrum...Could it be that deer are lapping very fast with their tongues? Those teeny little holes in the feeders would make it an all night job for those without a tiny beak....It possible that I will never know the answer to this Q....

Wednesday... all day...

Good morning world...Its another beautiful morning and last night the moon was awesome. I got a pic of it but haven't downloaded it yet. I'm meeting Di and meg today... actually fairly soon. We'll have breakfast and visit. I want to hear all about their trip out west...I'd like to travel east myself. I think its much prettier altho I cant really know that as Ive never been there. hahahah.

Roo is probably in Washington DC by now. I hope she managed to get some sleep since she had to be at the school to get the bus at 1 am. Yah you heard me right! Some of the stupid parents didn't want to pay for an extra motel night. So the kids probably will be zombies today....Oh well their young....
I have to take some time and dig into the candidates platforms, to see whats up. You sure can't tell by TV ads...I'm so disturbed by what I hear from both of them. Our country is in dire need of someone to take a hand to clear things up, and I'm not sure either of them can do this. I guess we've made it through bad presidents before.....Well, not so good with Bush...We will survive it all....

Summer is here.....

Ahhhh, At last beautiful weather. Not too hot, not too cold, but great for yard and garden work. These things I got very involved in yesterday and will again today. I have a bit more mowing and weed eating to do and want to till the garden now that its dry. I feel a bit sad tho that I have this, and others are suffering in the flooding. Its overwhelming to see whole towns under water..The water is filthy and toxic to humans and pets. So sad.....
I just witnessed a mama Turkey and her teeny babies walking thru the yard. I tried to get a picture, but she was kinda far away and the trees were in the way. As she started to the road, a car was coming fast, so I hope none of the babies got smashed. Its that time of year now, with life bursting in all directions. Flowers blooming, veges growing, babies being born of all species. Renewal.....I love renewal. Today I pick Marissa up from school at 11. She's there to get ready for her trip to Washington DC tomorrow. I hope she will go to lunch with me so we have a bit of time together. Tomorrow Ill meet Di and meg for breakfast and a good visit...Life is good and I thank God everyday for that. I hope all of you that read this are having a good day also. Take care now,

Sunday, father's day...

Well, Didn't we have a great weekend. We went golfing Saturday with Irv and Ann, and Dean,Chris and roo...After golf we all went to an Italian restaurant for supper. Real nice. Today we all met down at Dexterville for fishing and camaraderie....Everyone came,. Even Dean and Chris[ thought they weren't coming] and Harry and Barb, heather, Tyler and nate. Ryan was even there for a spell. It was real nice. Fish weren't biting tho...All in all, it was a very nice weekend. Now My kitchen is clean, coffee ready for tomorrow morning. I want to get out and work in the yard tomorrow...Have a good one....

Friday and no rain...

Morning all. Its not going to rain today. At least that's the weatherman's words. Ill be out and heading for Marshfield to get batteries for my camera. I sorta used them up, taking videos of Ryans grad party. I'm also going to try to find a tv converter box. Tried at walmart but they were out. I'll need one for the dining room tv, as its not connected to our satellite. I finally got a coupon for it. Whats up with the fact that they give you 90 days to use the coupon? Always a snaffoo to it....
Funny how cranky I get when the sun doesn't shine. It changes me drastically. Irv wants to go golfing Saturday so I hope the sun shines then. Take care ya all, Ill try to post better another day....

Thursday

I'm not in the mood to post. Its rainy again! I'm so sick of rain I could spit! Blah! All you hear is " risk of severe weather!" " heavy rains and chance of flooding". Puke, gag..........Okay, that feels better....
The movie was good yesterday. Iron man. I'm not sure Marissa liked it, but I did. We had a good time together. I bought her a book she wanted, at the book store. Its the third in a series. Huge thick book. Im so glad shes a reader...I bought my self a bird identifying book. Today I will go over later and help her clean up the house a bit, before Christy comes home from her trip.
Here it is the middle of June, and we haven't really done many fun things outdoors. Summer is going to disappear fast I'm afraid. We would usually be planning a camping trip by now. Who wants to camp with rain and severe storms and mosquitoes? Maybe, just maybe, I'm looking forward to winter????? nawwwwwwwwwww....later then....

Wednesday...movie day

Morning all who read...I DID manage to get the lawn done yesterday, even though it was wet, and kept clogging up my mower. Good thing to, as it rained last night a little, and more expected tonight thru thurs. I don't have a lot of hopes for my veg garden this year. Wet feet are not good for plants...
Today, I'm taking Marissa out for lunch at El mescal, and a movie. We,ll probably see Iron man. Hearing good things about that movie....Christy will be home tomorrow some time...Yay!!!!!Then after that it will be Roos turn to go to Washington DC. with a bunch from her school. Sure worry about them all flying, but that's MY issue...
Guess I'm going to have to stay home more for awhile. Gas prices are getting ridiculous. Its not plausible to just run just to get out of the house. Ive heard that Michigan has been over 4.00 for quite awhile. It sure eats up your money fast when pumping. Groceries are becoming a luxury now too for some. Wheres it all going? I don't know, but I'm glad Ive been stocking up for awhile...

Sun shining Monday

The weekend is over and Ryan's party was a success even thought he weather was volatile all day. Off and on thunder storms didn't spoil anything. I had a wonderful time with the girls and Jackson. I miss them all very much. Christy's on her way, as we speak, to Washington, Dc. Business trip till Thurs. Just so she carries her angel pin at all times...I made bread today and did a ton of dishes and laundry. Went outside but the mosquitoes are horrid. I have to mow tomorrow no matter what. The grass is long and wet but it will get done....Okay, I'm very tired so I'm outta here for tonight... Have a good one any and all....

TGIF

Raining this morning, but the severe stuff didn't make it here. Di and meg left for Minn. to catch their flight yesterday, so I hope they got off okay. Tomorrow doesn't sound that great, but I'm hoping that it turns out better then they say. Come on, for pete's sake! This is June not April....Laurie, and her family will be coming up after they get off work today. Shan and Jack are staying here...yay!!!!! I have to make the brownies today, and maybe get the salad started too...All my other work is basically done, believe it!
I'm looking outside, and it appears that nothing was disturbed by robbers of the animal kind last night. I used heavy wire to make things more secure..Weren't they surprised to find that they couldn't steal stuff...hahahaha. I didn't have to get out the gun after all, much to Shans delight....

Obama is the democratic pick so The fun will start now. We thought the primaries were bad.....whoosh!!!!A person has to keep up on things but it sure gets old fast...All the back biting and false statements abounding...Oh well, such is politics in this here land of the free...hahahaha...
I worked hard again today, cleaning and organizing...Ive got bread baking as we speak, and it smells heavenly.. tomorrow if its not raining Ill go out and mow a bit more. Onions are up in the garden and everything is doing okay so far...Irv's home and his sense of humor left me flat...guess I'm just tired. I miss my smileys...Wahhhhh. Thursday morning and its raining...so much for mowing...Ill get the spare room ready for Shanna and Jack today. I fixed up a play area in the dining room for him..I sure am excited about seeing them.
I believe there's a visitor to my yard at night after I'm in bed. Yesterday the single suet feeder was gone missing. I mean completely gone! Now today I see the new waterer and bird bath is on the ground...Maybe a raccoon? If he shows up during light hours he,ll be dispatched to Raccoon heaven via my trusty 22...Hey! Don't yell at me! They need to leave my stuff alone...Have a great day in spite of the rain....

This is June???

Sure doesnt feel like it to me. 55 this am and cloudy. Every day they talk about thunderstorms. We dont always get them but the talk annoys me. Feels more like april. I have tons to do again today so Ill add more here later....

Tuesday

Okay, I'm going to town to buy Irv some bib overalls.....Yah, you heard me right. He loved the carhearts I bought him and is STILL wearing them out to do chores...I asked him this, " Aren't they just a smidge hot?" He answered, " NO, no there just fine." Which means to me that he doesnt want to give them up! So, I'm off to get him some lighter weight ones for summer...I am going to tell him before he puts them on, that no way is he EVER to leave the property with them on. Well, he'll change to other jeans, you naughty people.....Later then, have a great day now....

Monday

The weekend went good. Irv and I and Irvie golfed on saturday, 9 holes. Yesterday, I mowed some, and did some laundry. Irv and I went golfing again at Tri city. I did better on the fairway, and teeing off, but not so hot on the green. Had a better score though, so there was some improvement. Poor Irv is still struggling with his slice. I am sure the Parkinsons has something to do with his problem. I hope he doesnt give it up.
Today I have to get out and plant the rest of the garden and mow lawn. Their talking chances of rain all week. No rain on saturday!!!!!!No, No, NO!!!!!!Theres something amiss here on this blog....cant use emotions....hmmmmmmmmm.....Later then...
