Do you believe in Angels? I do. I believe that those of us that have lived long enough, to have learned all the lessons we need to learn, become angels for God. Those are the ones that protect us, and lead us. If we acknowledge them. Perhaps its like a business. God needs workers to help him get through all the business of our lives. Those of us that do not grow and learn and improve our souls, must go on and on until we do. Maybe there is a time limit on this. Maybe we only get so many chances and then its over. There is no more for those that do not improve. I believe in the reincarnation theory. I believe we get plenty of chances to become who we are meant to be, but only if we have a good soul. Errors can be changed. Mistakes forgiven. wounds healed. The only real thing, is within us. It is our soul.

Irv is watching the history channel,,,On it are all the old cars from the 50s and 60s. When I met Irv he had a brand new 1958 Chevy Impala. White with red interior! OMG! That car was so hot.. Not sure if I fell in love with him or it first. lol. The thing is, cars nowadays aren't hot. Not the general run of the mill cars anyhew. Not the ones most of us drive, or can afford. They all look pretty much alike now...I can pick out the old cars but not the new...They just don't have the personality's the old cars had...Of course I drive a Chevy Monte Carlo...bright Red. Now it has personality even though she has a few years on her...A few wrinkles and blemishes. Sorta like me, and she still can move...I know there are still sporty cars that have some style, Corvettes, Fiats etc...but who the heck can afford them? Cookie cutter cars are not for me... Foreign cars, probably not. Too damned bad they stopped making the Monte....

Time...the illusive thing we all try to capture more of. When we are the very young...we wish time would move faster. We want to be grown, and able to decide things for ourselves...Before we know it time HAS moved on, and we are adults, with all the adult responsibility's. Love, marriage, work, babies...Time is now moving much too fast for our own good. The children grow more rapid then we like, and move on into their own lives. Mistakes and all. What we see in the mirror does not reflect the way we feel inside...Time has left its scars on our face and bodies...Slow down! Slow down! We cry out in vain...Now, instead of treasuring every moment, we still rush through life as if we had tons of it...The morning sky should fill us with awe. All the things we do throughout the day, should be appreciated for what it is...The food we eat should be a pleasure to savor...The walk we take should show us that even though time is moving swiftly, all things can bring us some pleasure if we just notice.....Keep your mind involved in everything you do..Dont mindlessly watch television. Be in it. Take some of that illusive time and use it up to the fullest extent. Enjoy what you are watching and when its over, move on to another joy...All of our days are numbered here, this time...No one says you cannot enjoy everyone of those moments...

I wonder sometimes why we blame things....for people's stupidity? I just heard that a lady tried to get back on her treadmill while it was running, and she got hurt. Blamed the treadmill...I've heard of people falling when running to get somewhere, and blame the sidewalk... I've heard of kids falling off swings, and the parents blame the swing maker....WTH? Why cant we take responsibility for our own mistakes? The lady and the treadmill, jumped off to grab her coffee, then tried to jump back on...Stupidity? Yah I think so...Running because your life is too hurried does not warrant a blame to anyone but you. SLOW down...Kids falling off swings? There KIDS for petes sake! We need to make room for real accidents NOT caused by our own dumbness...We need to stop blaming life for things we have control over....Shit! I just spilled my coffee! Damned computer! hahahahahahaha Whatever....

Say What?

Ok we all watch television. Probably more then we should, but that's the way of modern life.
The question I have is...WHY when we pay for our programming, do we still have to be undated with foolish, mind numbing commercials? Who is responsible for writing these stupid, and often insulting ads? They scream at you to get your full attention. They hire people that have no compulsion about acting like idiots. Do they really think that we are all so dumb that we wont turn the channel? That we will be tempted to try this product when promoted by imbeciles? I use my mute button frequently now...The only ones I actually pay any attention to, are the ones with cute kids, or the ones that don't try to make me gag. Its perfectly alright to show an intelligent person selling their product. I would be more apt to buy this product. Some, I no longer buy just because of the stupid commercials.....This is one of my biggest pet peeves. No wonder I don't sit in front of the tv for very long....Hey........maybe there a good thing after all....peace...

Excuse me?

When I was a young girl, my mom taught me to hold in my stomach, to stand up straight, and hold my head up. This is the way we walked, and it held me in good stead until I hit menopause. That of course, made all good things go right out the window.lol. I see this new generation of girls dont really care what they look like. They let there guts hang out, and wear lowrise jeans so the excess tummy, oozes out over the top. In effect....muffin top. I even saw girl golfers with the same thing going on. Where is the pride in our body's? Being natural does not mean letting it all hang out. You dont look good in your clothes, when body parts are hanging out all over. Lets get some pride back ladies. Lets get some muscle in our tummy's, and stand up straight.

Whats up?

Whats up with winter hanging on?
Why hasn't spring arrived?
The ground is showing snow,
And cold is still alive,

I dont see daffodils and grass,
There is no rain to fill the glass,
Robins came but now have gone,
How Id love to hear their song,

No worms are found beneath the ice,
They tried and failed to find them twice,
So off they flew to a warmer place,
That put a frown upon my face,

Whats up with winter hanging on?
Temperatures are far from warm,
Cant golf or plant or anything,
The finches hardly ever sing,

Maybe next week it will improve,
The sun will shine and bikes will move,
Folks will take off heavy coats,
Some will try to sow some oats,

Comeon spring, were waiting here,
help that snow to disappear....

Things that go bye bye...

Someone mentioned today, that many things we now have, will disappear in the future...Landlines...books....cds...post offices...There were more mentioned that I cannot think of at this time... I'm not sure if I agree with this. I think we will always have books, to hold, and read, and fold back the corners. To dust in our libraries, and read to the wee ones to get them to sleep. Change Will come to how we deliver our music, but there will always be music, even if we just sing it ourselves...I think they are going to find out for sure, that cell phones used to often, can injure hearing, and cause cancer, so everyone will have to go to hands free. I think landlines will still be needed for many reasons. As to the post offices...I think they will get into other venues to save themselves from distinction. I worry more about the loss of our hearing from too loud music, and the cell phone. Loss of our legs because we sit too much. Loss of our brain because we let computers, and I pods, etc. do our thinking for us. Loss of falling in love, because no one dates one on one anymore...Everything is done in groups...Yes, things will go, and other things will come to replace them. Normal is what is here at this time...Some things I might miss though....maybe....

Making us pay...

I'm angry this morning...Listening to the news come out of Washington, makes me crazy! The amount of money we need to recoup is intolerable. I understand we need to cut our spending big time but.....why does that, WE...only mean the poor? Of course once again they go right for the jugular of the little guy. For heavens sake don't take money from those that have...just take it from those that dont. Dont stop sending big amounts of money overseas to help those poor countries. After all, they need us...We can just take from our poor to help the others. Cut social programs because who cares about our people that need the help, instead of fixing the problems, and filling the holes...Cut Medicare, because who cares about our old people? There just gonna die anyhow...These cuts dont affect those that are making them. They wont lose anything. They will always have their insurance and care for their lifetime...Hell....Maybe WE need an uprising!!!!!

Did you say snow?

We missed out on this latest snow storm that hit southern wis, and northern Ill. We have plenty of snow on the ground so we surely didn't need this. Some family members have been posting pictures, and all I can say is wow! Thats scary...The idea that you cannot get out of your house, that you cannot even see your vehicle, because its buried under the snow. WOW! The idea that snow plows cannot move through this heavy burden of newly fallen snow. Fifteen or more inches, with blowing and drifting paralyzed the city of Chicago...Something like this makes you realize that those people that prepare ahead for things like this, are not scare mongers after all. They are smart! They keep extra food and water on hand at all times. They make sure they have alternate light sources and plenty of warm blankets stored. They may even have a generator stored somewhere. We now know it can happen, and just did. People stranded in their cars over night. People that are sick or hurt but the rescue workers cannot get to them...WOW! Mother nature has a nasty side to her, and I don't think we want to piss her off by being so complacent that we don't prepare for bad times. Respect the fact that anything can happen....anytime...Late ta

The Year...

I hope its the year we win the super bowl...We got here, and now have to keep this ball rolling...{ into the end zone] Its great to cheer once again, and be happy when the game is over and we have the winning score. We have this great young quarterback, and some real heavy duty players on the team. Announcers are lauding our playing skills, and expecting us to win games. So nice to hear once again. We are good fans and stick with our guys no matter what...Its finally paying off. GO PACK!!!!!!
Its gonna snow again sometime today. While I think of spring, and flowers, and a vege garden, Old man winter rears his ugly head, and puts me in my place. It doesn't defeat me though, no way. I know for sure that spring will come. The days will get longer, and the sun will be warm on my face. Tiny buds will peak through, and and small animals will come out of hiding. The house work will become secondary to being outside in the open air...As you can tell spring is one of my favorite seasons. Gives me the knowledge that everything is renewed. Life goes on and beautiful things will be seen again. Bad news be damned! I'm ready for the good feelings that come with spring and summer...Late ta

Just for Today

Just for today..I will be happy I,m alive. I will look at the good things in life, and not the bad. Just for today I will hug my husband, and sing to the breeze. Just for today, I will call a friend, and just listen to what she says. I will take a walk, and eat my vegetables. Just for today I will appreciate those that love me and tell them so. I will not judge them in anyway. Just for today I will not swear or get angry over little slights. I will laugh at the mirror and not be mad at what I see. Just for today.....I will look forward to doing it again tomorrow....Late ta

Is it necessary?

I'm watching the news, again hearing about the tragedy. The murders of those people and the wounding of the senator. Its obvious to me that this young man is crazy. It sounds like he has been this way for some time. Too bad no one felt it important to say something...Again we look at it, after the fact. I blame no one except this young man for what he decided to do though. He made that decision and went through with it. I WILL say that politics as usual, needs to change. It has gotten so nasty, and so cruel, that we no longer hear the real facts. We no longer hear what the candidate has to offer to help run the country. All we hear is nasty innuendos and threats. Yes, threats. How can we expect our young people to process this information? To feel good about our country? To want to be part of it all? Many politicians act like small children in their fighting and name calling. I'm so tired of it, and think changes need to come. SOON. I don't want to hear anymore about liberals or conservatives. Whos good and whos bad. Some where.... there is a center that we can all come to, for the good of America. teach our young, how good things can get done...

Going forward

I'm going to try to do better this year. I have a tendency to start things and get all excited, but lose interest real fast. This year I really want to do better. Exercise to make my body tighter, and healthier. Eat right, and less, so I lose a few unwanted pounds. I'm taking one day at a time, just like I did with my other vices...Just because I'm an older, doesn't mean I have to BE OLD!.
That great gal Betty White, is having her 89 th birthday this year. She is also still going strong on that new tv show. She gives me hope, that its possible to live to a ripe old age, [ did I say ripe?] if you take care of yourself...Ripe might not be the best analogy. After ripe comes rotten....lol I used to think giving up things I liked, was a bad thing...Ive found that some things I liked, were BAD FOR me..Theres rewards for giving up the bad things...and usually, this is replaced with good...
So this is my plan, and I hope this time I can actually keep it going for ever....New year, new me and new hopes....Late ta
