humanity at the Clinic
While sitting in the lobby waiting for hubby, I see slow walkers, wheel chairs, bandages and splints. Old people, young people, overweight and skinny. Thrown in are a few perfect weight people...So many here to find relief from what ails them. Appointments kept, and some missed. Doctors and nurses moving the folks thru as if on a conveyor belt...Next?
Some people that treat their bodies as if they will live forever, no matter how they abuse it..Come here to see if whatever ails them can be fixed...Some people that take good care of themselves, surprised when all they do fails...
People waiting, waiting, using their cell phones or laptops as a lifeline to the outside world...Hoping that soon they too will be part of that world, as soon as doctors can make them well...Some with smiles to know that all the tests were negative, and they can continue on there busy lives...
One would think that with all the new technology, and knowledge, that less would come here, instead there seem to be more. When we finally walk out that door, into the sun, I smiled knowing that we were going to be okay for awhile more. That morning would make us smile, and we could be so glad to be alive in this goofy world...Enjoy your moments. Kiss that child, and hug your partner. Eat you vegetables, and walk a lot...Take care of this wonderful machine we walk around in...Just...Lil ole me
