Say What?

Ok we all watch television. Probably more then we should, but that's the way of modern life.
The question I have is...WHY when we pay for our programming, do we still have to be undated with foolish, mind numbing commercials? Who is responsible for writing these stupid, and often insulting ads? They scream at you to get your full attention. They hire people that have no compulsion about acting like idiots. Do they really think that we are all so dumb that we wont turn the channel? That we will be tempted to try this product when promoted by imbeciles? I use my mute button frequently now...The only ones I actually pay any attention to, are the ones with cute kids, or the ones that don't try to make me gag. Its perfectly alright to show an intelligent person selling their product. I would be more apt to buy this product. Some, I no longer buy just because of the stupid commercials.....This is one of my biggest pet peeves. No wonder I don't sit in front of the tv for very long....Hey........maybe there a good thing after all....peace...

Excuse me?

When I was a young girl, my mom taught me to hold in my stomach, to stand up straight, and hold my head up. This is the way we walked, and it held me in good stead until I hit menopause. That of course, made all good things go right out the window.lol. I see this new generation of girls dont really care what they look like. They let there guts hang out, and wear lowrise jeans so the excess tummy, oozes out over the top. In effect....muffin top. I even saw girl golfers with the same thing going on. Where is the pride in our body's? Being natural does not mean letting it all hang out. You dont look good in your clothes, when body parts are hanging out all over. Lets get some pride back ladies. Lets get some muscle in our tummy's, and stand up straight.

Whats up?

Whats up with winter hanging on?
Why hasn't spring arrived?
The ground is showing snow,
And cold is still alive,

I dont see daffodils and grass,
There is no rain to fill the glass,
Robins came but now have gone,
How Id love to hear their song,

No worms are found beneath the ice,
They tried and failed to find them twice,
So off they flew to a warmer place,
That put a frown upon my face,

Whats up with winter hanging on?
Temperatures are far from warm,
Cant golf or plant or anything,
The finches hardly ever sing,

Maybe next week it will improve,
The sun will shine and bikes will move,
Folks will take off heavy coats,
Some will try to sow some oats,

Comeon spring, were waiting here,
help that snow to disappear....

Things that go bye bye...

Someone mentioned today, that many things we now have, will disappear in the future...Landlines...books....cds...post offices...There were more mentioned that I cannot think of at this time... I'm not sure if I agree with this. I think we will always have books, to hold, and read, and fold back the corners. To dust in our libraries, and read to the wee ones to get them to sleep. Change Will come to how we deliver our music, but there will always be music, even if we just sing it ourselves...I think they are going to find out for sure, that cell phones used to often, can injure hearing, and cause cancer, so everyone will have to go to hands free. I think landlines will still be needed for many reasons. As to the post offices...I think they will get into other venues to save themselves from distinction. I worry more about the loss of our hearing from too loud music, and the cell phone. Loss of our legs because we sit too much. Loss of our brain because we let computers, and I pods, etc. do our thinking for us. Loss of falling in love, because no one dates one on one anymore...Everything is done in groups...Yes, things will go, and other things will come to replace them. Normal is what is here at this time...Some things I might miss though....maybe....

Making us pay...

I'm angry this morning...Listening to the news come out of Washington, makes me crazy! The amount of money we need to recoup is intolerable. I understand we need to cut our spending big time but.....why does that, WE...only mean the poor? Of course once again they go right for the jugular of the little guy. For heavens sake don't take money from those that have...just take it from those that dont. Dont stop sending big amounts of money overseas to help those poor countries. After all, they need us...We can just take from our poor to help the others. Cut social programs because who cares about our people that need the help, instead of fixing the problems, and filling the holes...Cut Medicare, because who cares about our old people? There just gonna die anyhow...These cuts dont affect those that are making them. They wont lose anything. They will always have their insurance and care for their lifetime...Hell....Maybe WE need an uprising!!!!!

Did you say snow?

We missed out on this latest snow storm that hit southern wis, and northern Ill. We have plenty of snow on the ground so we surely didn't need this. Some family members have been posting pictures, and all I can say is wow! Thats scary...The idea that you cannot get out of your house, that you cannot even see your vehicle, because its buried under the snow. WOW! The idea that snow plows cannot move through this heavy burden of newly fallen snow. Fifteen or more inches, with blowing and drifting paralyzed the city of Chicago...Something like this makes you realize that those people that prepare ahead for things like this, are not scare mongers after all. They are smart! They keep extra food and water on hand at all times. They make sure they have alternate light sources and plenty of warm blankets stored. They may even have a generator stored somewhere. We now know it can happen, and just did. People stranded in their cars over night. People that are sick or hurt but the rescue workers cannot get to them...WOW! Mother nature has a nasty side to her, and I don't think we want to piss her off by being so complacent that we don't prepare for bad times. Respect the fact that anything can happen....anytime...Late ta
