saturday here in Pittsville

6.21 and its NOT raining. How did that happen? I haven't had my coffee yet so excuse me if I'm not to clever.... Irvie and nate are to come over today. There gonna help Irv cut up the downed pine, and other sundry trees that are have died from who knows what. I'm never too happy with the left over stumps but what ya gonna do? While they do that, I will make barbecue for lunch and then mow grass if at all possible. It just isn't drying out there. Later this afternoon we will go to the bowling alley to see about our new balls we ordered. Maybe bowl if we can.
Irv still has a bad cough and not too energetic. It sure is hanging on... Hope I don't get it....no no no.....
Sounds like our mothers day plan is to go to a buffet at Rivers Edge, then to Christy's for games. I don't care what we do as long as I don't have to cook or work. I just want to be waited on and pampered and adored. Yah right! What world do I live in? It cant be the real one.... Have a great day you no comment people!!!!!

Morning all

The sun is shining and its Thursday, which means roo comes today after school. I always look forward to this....Maybe we can have a walk today. I like that because then we talk a lot.... I spent a lot of money yesterday at Julies greenhouse, on perennials and annuals. I have a porch full of beautiful flowers. Some can go out now ,but some have to wait a bit. I'll have to get some more Irish spring soap tho, to keep the rabbits and deer away....HEY! It works... Also some more cocoa mulch. I love that smell but I don't think the varmints do. Just so the neighbor dogs don't come here and eat it...DANGER!!!!

Mothers day is this Sunday and as usual it will be cool and rainy!!!!! But, for all you moms, that have done the best you can to love and raise your wee ones.... I hope the day for you is peaceful and loving and happy. For those of you women that are moms of a different kind, be it pets, spouses, or just mothering yourselves. Have a great day too....Men who are reading this. Treat your women extra special on Sunday. Just a smile, maybe make her breakfast....you know what she likes...don't you? Cards and flowers are the easy way out... Have a great day now you all....

These are our peacekeepers?

When half a dozen cops kick and beat their suspects repeatedly on camera, we are in big trouble.
These cops are supposed to be our peace keepers. Granted, two days before, a cop had been shot amd killed. Granted these cops are probably very upset over that, but no way should they take out their anger on people they arrest. I dont care that these suspects had been running from arrest. I dont care what there reason for stopping them. This has gotten way out of control and needs to be stopped. Maybe these cops need a vacation..... nough said.

It begins...

Grass mowing, lawn raking, flower planting, garden seeding, time........is here. Now is when free time is at a premium, and trying to find things to do, is a joke...I love this time of year but hope I can still keep up with it all. Sposed to be in the 70s today so I'm gonna try to get the lawn all done before it rains again.
I helped christy put in two new flower beds Saturday. It was fun working with her but also very hard work. Her time is really limited so I wanted to help.
American Idol is on tonite. Getting down to a select few now. They all need to step it up a bit. Show how much they want this.

Voting day in North Carolina, I believe today. Ill be glad when its all said and done. I'm tired of politics and all its bullcrap! Chances are, no matter who gets in office, it will remain the same ole, same ole... How many have kept the promises they made? But....I will say, Hillary scares me. I have a feeling she would do something stupid, that couldn't be undone. Obama has made some unwise associations and that may do him in...I will say though....he sure looks presidential. McCain is old and set in his ways and too much a Bush wannabe...Oh well, we shall see where it all leads....

Life and after life?

Okay, come on folks. Tell me if you have ever had an experience with the afterlife? Any visitations or unusual happenings. Do you believe in this at all? I for one have had it happen a few times. Some of you know the details with my dad. Thats why I bought this new book and it just renews my knowledge of this. This could be fun if we open up to this... Heres one of mine....
I adopted a stray cat that wandered into the yard.. He was in need of love and care and I did all that for about a year. He was an outside cat though and wandered at his wim...One night I dreampt that when I went out to feed him in the morning, his neck was cut open and he had been in a fight....I got up that morning and went out and there he was bleeding from the face and neck! I tended him, but soon after he went away and didnt come back except for one night. I looked out and saw a cat that looked very much like him in the doorway of the doghouse. He used to sleep in there. This cat wouldnt come to me so I'm not sure if it was him or not...I never saw him again. Maybe that was his spirit cat.....This is the truth. YOUR TURN!!!!!

whoowee! Its friday...

Actually, almost Sat. I went into town this morning after the nighttime showers and thunderstorms. I bought another purse! I know, I know. There's no excuse for me....none at all. In my own defense, I must say it IS a very cute one.. I have this thing for purses... and shoes.....and quilts.... just talked to jer on the phone. Nice Well I'd better go get supper star ted. Talk more tomorrow....

Do you wonder?

Do you ever wonder, why we feel the need to keep the grass cut so short? Why all the twigs have to be picked up and flowers planted in unison along the sidewalk? Why do we get all flustered if the bed isn't made or the dishes done? So what if the kids get dirty when playing outdoors or the dog gets mud on the floor? Who cares if hubby leaves his shoes in the living room? Maybe we should spend more time looking at stars and playing in the sun. Maybe we should spend more time hanging out with people we love and asking them what THEY would enjoy? I think back to earlier days and wish I hadn't rushed through them. Maybe we should all slow down and try to make some awesome memories for today...
Okay, I got to go, I have to work....
